ASKQANCE 2014 for Schools & Colleges on Saturday 26 July 2014

As part of our 31st Anniversary celebrations titled ASKQANCE 2014, the Karnataka Quiz Association will host a series of general quiz contests for students of various classes. All the quizzes will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Queen’s Road, Bangalore. The various events are as below:

Inter-Middle School Quiz for students in classes 5, 6 and 7 in teams of 2 – a maximum of 6 teams per school
QMs: Santosh Swaminathan and Venkatesh Srinivasan

Inter-High School Quiz for students in classes 8, 9 and 10 in teams of 2 – a maximum of 6 teams per school
QMs: Hrishikesh Varma and Praveen VR

Junior College Quiz for students in classes 11 and 12 (or Junior College / PU) in teams of 3

Inter-College Quiz for students in UG and PG courses in teams of 3

The Junior College and College quizzes will have a common preliminary round and separate finals. QMs – Varun Shenoy and Sai Ganesh

We invite participation in these events – all team members have to be from the same school/college.

Please note that registration is only through the online form available at the links below. No hard copy/paper registration or printout is required. Students can wear school uniform and/or carry a school badge for identification.

The Karnataka Quiz Association is organizing an individual written science quiz for school children (Classes 5-10), as part of an Innovation, Science and Technology Fair in Bangalore from June 13-15, 2014.

Teams of 4 – all members from either Class 3 or Class 4 from the same school
Common written prelims of 25 questions
Separate finals for the Top 8 teams in each category
Reporting time: 9:00 AM
No Registration Fee; On-the-spot registration

The KQA Collegiate Solo Championships
Solo quiz for Std XI/XII/PUC/UG/PG students
Written prelims followed by one common final
Reporting time: 11:30 AM
Registration Fee: Rs 50/person

The Karnataka Quiz Association will host its next series of quizzes on Sunday, 24 Nov 2013 at the usual venue: Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Queen’s Road, Bangalore. The details of the quizzes are:

Lone Kid Solo Quiz for Middle School Students
Prelims: 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM
Finals: 10:00 AM to 11 AM
For solo participation by school students in classes 5/6/7

Prelims: 11:15 AM to 11:50 AM
Finals: 12 Noon to 1:15 PM
For solo participation by school students in classes 8/9/10

Brainbuster quiz by Quiz Dubai – 90 question, 60 minutes written quiz for solo participants
There will be a $100 prize for the top quizzer overall. Last year, it was held in 14 cities all over the world, and this year the organizers hope to increase the number of venues.

ASKQANCE 2013 – Schools and Colleges

We will hold the KQA Anniversary School and College quizzes on Saturday, August 24, 2013.
The quizzes will be held at Institute of Agricultural Technologists (IAT), Queens Road, in the ground floor hall.
The quizzes are:

I. Middle School Quiz – classes 5-7
Middle School prelims: 9 AM to 9:40 AM
Middle School Finals: 9:50 AM to 10:50 AM

II. High School Quiz – classes 8-10
High School Prelims: 11 AM to 11:40 AM
High School Finals: 11:50 AM to 1:00 PM

Invitation letters have been sent out to schools.
There is a restriction of 3 teams per school per category.

III. PU Quiz – classes 11-12 / PU / Junior College

The prelims for the PU and College quizzes will be common, with separate finals.
PU and College Prelims: 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM
PU Finals: 3:00 – 4:30 PM

IV. College Quiz – UG and PG

PU and College Prelims: 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM

College Finals: 4:30 to 6:00 PM

 

Oikoumene 2012 Results

The School Category was won by Pranav Ramamurthy and Hayden D’Souza of St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School while II Place went to Presidency School,Bangalore South and National Hillview Public School took III Place.

The College Category was won by Rohan Menzies and Ezra Rynjah of SJC, while II place went to Akshay and Natesh of BITS-PILANI Goa. The III Place was claimed by Maitrey Deshpande from MSRIT.

The Open Category was won by Ochintya Sharma and Arun Hiregange while Rohan Menzies and Ezra Rynjah from St. Joseph’s finished in II Place. The III Place was won by Jayendra and Sheshadri.
