Unseeded Open Quiz I
The quiz once memorably described by a certain stalwart as ’seedless, weedless and completely needless’ will now be held thrice a year–this one, another in November, and the MetaQuizziks 20th Anniversary Unseeded Open in March.
Members of the following teams cannot take part: QED, MQ, WALTWO, Mustafa, Expats, Swami & Friends, No Questions Asked, and Pranesh Plus Three. In addition, the teams that achieved top three positions in the Film Quiz at ASKQANCE 2009 are also excluded.
This quiz is open only to quizzers who are ordinarily resident in Karnataka. Teams with doubtful antecedents may be subjected to a rapid-fire GK round based on Banaswadi and its environs.

A new format will be used for the Solus Rex championships starting this season. 12 contestants qualify. The qualifiers will then face each other in three ‘matches’–each involving four qualifiers. The winners of the three matches and the best runner-up will then meet in a not-entirely-grand finale. The matches will be held between September and November.
