<p>For the record, the collegiate quizzes attracted a total of 110 teams<br />

(Bangalore) BMSCE finished third. . The Junior College event was won<br />
by SBM Jain College, with NPS-Indiranagar and FAPS taking 2nd and 3rd<br />
spots.</p>
<p>The Bangalore Quiz was won by Rajeev Gowda and Anustup Datta.<br />
G.S.Hiranyappa and Chandrashekhar teamed up to take the second place.<br />
Previous winners Thejaswi Udupa and Karthik Shashidhar finished third.</p>
<p>The entertainment quiz attracted 45 teams. The Chennai outfit<br />
Treebeard (JK, Gopal, Sumo and team) won the quiz, followed by<br />
Metaquizziks (Varun Rajiv, Satyajit Chetri, Mitesh Agarwal and Arul<br />
Mani) in second place. The third place was taken by Bang Hoes (Udatta<br />
and team).</p>
<p>120 teams wrote the High School quiz prelims.The event was dominated<br />
by teams from the various branches of the Sri Kumaran&#8217;s institutions<br />
with their ICSE team eventually winning the quiz. NPS Rajajinagar<br />
finished second.</p>
<p>Sriram from NPS-R&#8217;nagar won the solo title, followed by Arvind (FAPS)<br />
in second place and Athith from Kumaran&#8217;s ICSE in third place.</p>
<p>60 teams took the Open Quiz prelims. Special prizes for best school<br />
and best college were claimed by Sishu Griha and NPS-Indirangar<br />
respectively.</p>
<p>The TVS Ride Smart Round for teams placing 9-16 in the prelims was won<br />
by Questionable Characters, followed by Metaquizziks in second place.<br />
Other qualifiers included Raju and His Henchmen,Guessworks,Mustafa,<br />
Takemytrip.com, Nexus, and Namesake. All eight qualifiers received prizes.</p>
<p>The Finals were a truly national affair&#8211;5 out of the 8 places were<br />
taken by non-Bangalore teams. The quiz was eventually won by We Are<br />
Like This Wonly (Movin Miranda, Anustup Datta, Ochintya Sharma and<br />
Thejaswi Udupa). Arul and His Technicoloured Kurta (from Chennai- JK,<br />
Sumo, Vinod and Sreeram) finished Second, losing top spot by a narrow<br />
margin of 10 points. QED-Chennai (Samanth, Swami, Gopal Kidao and<br />
Rajiv Rai) shook off a slumbersome start to finish Third. The other<br />
finalists included Revenge of the Sith (New Delhi - Dr. Bhattacharya<br />
and team), Insert Cool Name Here, Swami and Friends (Hyderabad), No<br />
Questions Asked and a team from Mumbai (Amit Varma, Udatta and others)</p>
<p>The Informal Sports Quiz was won by Vinod (36 points), followed by<br />
Harish (24.5) and Manish (22) in second and third spots. The<br />
quizmasters decided to limit the prizes to three because only about a<br />
dozen of the fifty people who took the quiz returned their sheets:)</p>
<p>The results for the Informal Science Quiz set by PS Rajagopal for<br />

<p>Mahaquizzer, KQA&#8217;s annual solo championship, will be held on Sunday, 18 May 2008. This year&#8217;s quiz is set by Ochintya Sharma, Thejaswi Udupa, Avinash Thirumalai and Arun Hiregange.</p>
<p>The contest will be held simultaneously in nine cities: Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram.</p>
<p>Four prizes will be given out in each city: Best Quizzer, Best Lady Quizzer, Best College Quizzer and Best School Quizzer.</p>
<p>The person recording the highest score across all centres will hold the title of Mahaquizzer for 2008. She/he will also be awarded the Wing Commander G.R. Mulky Trophy for Quizzing Excellence.</p>
<p>Mahaquizzer is a unique contest, requiring the participant to answer 150 questions, drawn from as wide a spread as possible, in 90 minutes. It is open to all and entry is free. Those interested in participating must mail <a href="mailto:mahaquizzer@gmail.com">Mahaquizzer@gmail.com</a> or <a href="mailto:kqaquizzes@gmail.com">kqaquizzes@gmail.com</a>, <strong>mentioning which city you would like to appear from in the subject line</strong>.</p>

<p>Please do try and register by Wednesday 14 May 2008. City coordinators will allow on-the-spot entries if seating is available, but in the event of a space-crunch, first preference will be given to those who had registered before the deadline.</p>

<p><strong>No more online registrations will be accepted. People who haven&#8217;t registered by email must contact their City Coordinator. We would like to accommodate every interested quizzer, but this will depend on the seating available in each venue.
