We will hold three quizzes on Sunday 6th September 2009 at The Institute of Agricultural Technologists, Queen’s Road, Bangalore.

EVENT I

ABBA KE ZAMANE MEIN
The 1970s, 1980s and 1990s Quiz

When we floated the idea of the quiz, somebody said “What can be more pissing off than current affairs from thirty years ago?” Ochintya Sharma and Arul Mani will respond to that challenge with one hundred questions over three hours.

Open to all; teams of TWO members; entry fee: Rs. 50/- per team.

Registrations: 1000hrs
Prelims: 1015hrs
Finals:1100hrs to 1300hrs

TAP UNCOUTH
A written quiz dedicated to song, dance, performance and yes, to tappankooth.

EVENT III

Unseeded Open Quiz I

The quiz once memorably described by a certain stalwart as ‘seedless, weedless and completely needless’  will now be held thrice a year–this one, another in November, and the MetaQuizziks 20th Anniversary Unseeded Open in March.

Members of the following teams cannot take part: QED, MQ, WALTWO, Mustafa, Expats, Swami & Friends, No Questions Asked, and Pranesh Plus Three. In addition, the teams that achieved top three positions in the Film Quiz at ASKQANCE 2009 are also excluded.

This quiz is open only to quizzers who are ordinarily resident in Karnataka.  Teams with doubtful antecedents may be subjected to a rapid-fire GK round based on Banaswadi and its environs.

Open to almost everybody; teams of FOUR members; entry fee: Rs. 50/- per team; free entry for school teams.

Canara Union Lone Wolf Quiz and Solux Rex Prelims on Sunday 23 August 2009

The 27th edition of the Canara Union Lone Wolf Quiz will be held on
Sunday 23 August 2009.

Prizes:
Rs. 500, Rs. 400 and Rs. 300/- plus prizes for all finalists.

In addition,
The preliminaries for the sixth edition of Solus Rex, KQA’s solo quiz loosely based on the Mastermind format, will also be held at the same venue.

20 qualifiers from the preliminary round will sit for semifinals over
October and November, followed by a finals in December, featuring the
winners of the four semifinals and the runner-up with the highest score.

There will be two quizzing Sundays on 6th and 20th September at the Institute of Agricultural Technologists. Events planned include Persiflage–the KQA Book Quiz, an Unseeded Open Quiz, and two ranking Open Quizzes. The scheduled school/middle school and college events are postponed to a future date owing to the swine-flu panic.

Copies of the KQA yearbooks will be available for sale at the venue.

ASKQANCE 2009 – Results

KQA celebrated the 26th anniversary of its founding this year. This year’s ASKQANCE, our anniversary quiz festival, featured six quizzes held over two successive Sundays at the Institute of Agricultural Technologists, Queen’s Road, Bangalore.
