Wing Commander G. R. Mulky Trophy for Quizzing Excellence was awarded to the All-India Mahaquizzer winner for 2011, Dr. Arul Mani.

Mr. G. S. Hiranyappa, a stalwart quizzer of the Karnataka Quiz Association was honoured and presented with a shawl by Mr. Ochintya Sharma, the KQA president. Mr. Hiranyappa who also celebrates his birthday today, graciously accepted the honour and self-deprecatingly claimed that all one needed to gain respectability was to grow older and sport gray hair.
