ASKQANCE 2012 – Junior College Quiz
As part of the annual quiz festival ASKQANCE the KQA is organizing an Inter Collegiate quiz contest open to Junior college/PU students on 21st July 2012 at St. John’s Auditorium, Koramangala, Bangalore.
The Rules
- Participating institutions may field a maximum of SIX teams each.
- Each team can comprise of a maximum of THREE members from the same institution.
- No entry fee.
- Registration at venue: teams must bring the completed entry form (attested by the Head of the institution) with them. In addition, please RSVP using the form at the bottom of this page.
- The quiz will cover topics of general interest and requires no specific preparatory effort.
- A written preliminary will be held to select 8 teams for the oral/audio-visual finals
- Prizes & Certificates will be awarded to all 8 teams that qualify for the finals

As part of the annual quiz festival ASKQANCE the KQA is organizing Cognito, an Inter High School quiz contest for students of Standards VIII, IX & X on Saturday, 21st July 2012 at St. John’s Auditorium, Koramangala, Bangalore.
The Rules
- Participating schools may field SIX teams each.
- Each team can comprise of a maximum of TWO members from the same school.
- No entry fee.
- Participants must print out the entry form, get it authenticated by their school and present it at the venue. In addition, please RSVP using the form at the bottom of this page.
- Teams must bring pens/pencils; paper will be provided.
- The quiz will cover topics of general interest and requires no specific preparatory effort.
- All participating teams must reach the venue in time for registrations by 11:00am on July 21st, 2012
- A written preliminary will be held to select 8 teams for the oral/audio-visual finals
- Prizes & Certificates will be awarded to all 8 teams that qualify for the finals

The KQA will host a general quiz contest for students of Middle school (Std. V, VI & VII) on Saturday 21st July 2012 as part of ASKQANCE 2012—our 29th Anniversary Celebrations at St. John’s Auditorium, Koramangala, Bangalore.

The events planned include a Middle-School Championship (Std.V-VII), a High School Championship (Std VIII-X), a Junior College Championship (PUC/XI and XII) and a College Championship (PUC to PG)
Askqance Open Quizzes
Date: Friday 24 June 2011, Saturday 25 June 2011 and Sunday 26 June 2011.
Venue: Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Queen’s Road, Bangalore.
Some Chennai wit called our 2010 anniversary ‘the Woodstock of Quizzing’. On the same theme, another Chennai wag sent us the suggestion that we should call this year’s anniversary ‘a KQArian Exposition of Peace, Love and Quizzing’.
We blenched a little bit and complained a lot about the consequences of exposure to the Cooum. Having recovered, we now undertake to provide the quizzing; those who turn up will have to organise their own peace and love.
The events planned:

History of Ideas Quiz, followed by the Travel Quiz.
Both are for teams of two members.

Mega-Whats Face-off Final
All of the sixteen teams that qualified for the Mega-Whats Face-off have confirmed that they will be present. Thus, two teams from Chennai, five teams from Bangalore, two teams from Mumbai,and one team each from Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata, Panaji, Pune, Thrissur and Coimbatore will contest for the title of National Open Quizzing champions.

Wing Commander G.R. Mulky Memorial Open Quiz on Sunday 8 May 2011
Canara Union will host the sixth edition of the Wing Commander G.R. Mulky Memorial Open Quiz on Sunday, 8 May 2011 at their premises on 8th Main/15th Cross, Malleswaram.

Directions: For those who don’t know Malleswaram too well, get to Sankey Tank and watch for a little exit on the left immediately after–this will bring you to Margosa Road and 18th Cross in Malleswaram. Continue for a bit down the same road till you see a telephone exchange and a school on your right, and Veena Stores on your left. This would be 15th Cross–take a right and continue up the road. At about the third intersection, you will see one of those Barista/CCD outlets (can’t remember which) on your right–turn left here, you are now on 8th Main and Canara Union is about five doors down on the right.
Alternatively, get to Malleswaram Circle, go up Sampige Road till you see the 15th Cross sign, turn left and turn left once again when you spot the coffee-shop and CV Raman’s house.

Other announcements
KQA’s last quizzing event for the 2010-11 season will be held on Sunday 22 May 2011 at IAT. The events planned include the Solus Rex Finals, the Non-Fiction Quiz and the Open Music Quiz.
Of the pending events in the calendar, we will hold the Lone Wolf and the Families Quiz in July and August while the History of Ideas quiz will be accommodated in the three-day quiz-festival to mark KQA’s 28th Anniversary, scheduled for 24th, 25th and 26th June 2011.
