We will be hosting a set of quizzes on Sunday, Nov 9 at our new venue, the office of Ujjivan Financial Services in Koramangala.
We have two events lined up:
EVENT I
Pilferages – the Popular and Pulp Fiction Written Quiz
Teams of upto two members
Regn: Rs. 100/- per team
Written Quiz with 40 questions
Quiz Timings: 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
EVENT II
The Ganesh Nayak Memorial Open Quiz
Teams of upto four members
Prelims followed by Finals for the Top 8 teams

ASKQANCE 2014 for Schools & Colleges on Saturday 26 July 2014
As part of our 31st Anniversary celebrations titled ASKQANCE 2014, the Karnataka Quiz Association will host a series of general quiz contests for students of various classes. All the quizzes will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Queen’s Road, Bangalore. The various events are as below:
Inter-Middle School Quiz for students in classes 5, 6 and 7 in teams of 2 – a maximum of 6 teams per school
QMs: Santosh Swaminathan and Venkatesh Srinivasan
Inter-High School Quiz for students in classes 8, 9 and 10 in teams of 2 – a maximum of 6 teams per school
QMs: Hrishikesh Varma and Praveen VR
Junior College Quiz for students in classes 11 and 12 (or Junior College / PU) in teams of 3
Inter-College Quiz for students in UG and PG courses in teams of 3
The Junior College and College quizzes will have a common preliminary round and separate finals. QMs – Varun Shenoy and Sai Ganesh
We invite participation in these events – all team members have to be from the same school/college.

Wing Commander G.R. Mulky Memorial Open Quiz on Sunday 6 July
The 9th edition of the Wing Commander G.R. Mulky Memorial Quiz will be held on Sunday 6 July 2014 at the Canara Union premises on 8th Main, off 15th Cross, Malleswaram.
The quiz is open to all
Four members per team
Entry Fee: Rs. 100/- (Free for school teams)
Prizes for all finalists

World Quizzing Championships – Bangalore details
Bangalore, as ever, will be one of the venues of the World Quizzing Championships.
Venue: The auditorium at Command Hospital
Date: June 7th, Saturday
Time: 3 pm. Sharp.
Registration fee: Rs. 50/- per head. Registration is mandatory.
Nagaratna Patil has graciously agreed to proctor the quiz for us.

The Karnataka Quiz Association will be celebrating its 31st anniversary this year. We will be hosting a series of quizzes as part of ASKQANCE 2014 – a 2.5 day festival of open quizzes.

We will also be giving out the trophies for the winner of the 30th Anniversary Mahaquizzer edition held in Dec 2013 and the National Champion of Megawhats 2014 between the prelims and the finals of Sesame. There will also be a KQA-hosted high-tea for all participating teams.
All quizzes will carry an entry fee of Rs 100/team, except for school teams. Prizes for all finalists in all the quizzes. Look forward to seeing all of you in June!

A total of 130 teams from 12 centres across India took Mega-Whats 2014. These are the toppers in each category:

Entry Fee for all quizzes Rs 100/team, except for school teams. Prizes for the Top 3 teams in all quizzes.
Please note that the quizzes are on Saturday, not on Sunday. We also have quizzes lined up on Sunday, May 4, 2014.

We will host our next set of quizzes this Sunday, April 13 at our usual venue – IAT, Queen’s Road.
10:00 AM to 1:30 PM – April Open Quiz – for teams of 4 or less – prelims followed by finals for the Top 8 teams – QMs – Ashwin Kumar and Rajagopal PS
2:30 PM to 3:45 PM – The Karnataka Quiz – written quiz for teams of 2 – QM Varun Shenoy
4:00 PM to 7:30 PM – Seek Under Porus – the KQA History Quiz – for teams of 4 or less – prelims followed by finals for the Top 8 teams – QMs – Praveeen VR and Manjith K
All quizzes will carry an Entry Fee of Rs 100/team, except for school teams.
