We will host our next set of quizzes on Sunday, March 30 at our usual venue – IAT, Queen’s Road. Please be on time, since we have four quizzes planned.

9:30 AM to 11:00 AM (including corrections) – a 60-minutes written general Quiz on 100 Years since World War 1 – the quiz has been set by Vikram Joshi from the Bombay Quiz Club and has already been held in multiple cities across India. Proctor: Hrishikesh Varma

11:15 AM to 1:45 PM – KQA Cricket Quiz Prelims and Finals – for teams of 4 or less – QMs – Manish Achuth and Sohan Maheshwar

2:30 PM to 3:45 PM – Tech That! KQA Tech Quiz – written quiz for teams of 2 – QM Thejaswi Udupa

4:00 PM to 7:30 PM – March Open Quiz – for teams of 4 or less – this quiz will be in a Ruckus Tangdi format, where teams will be formed on the spot randomly – so, do come even if you don’t have a team! QMs: Sai Ganesh, Hari Shenoy, Varun Shenoy, Shashank PS, Sohan Maheshwar

 

Quizzes on Sunday 9 March 2014

The Karnataka Quiz Association will be holding its next set of quizzes on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at our regular venue – Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Queen’s Road.

10 AM onwards – Bangalore leg of the Asha Open Quiz

Bay Area Quiz Club will be conducting an Open Quiz as a fund raiser for the organization Asha. Asha raises funds to provide for projects dealing with educating underprivileged children in India. All funds raised via registration fees for this quiz will be sent to Asha Silicon Valley (SV) to help them fund their projects. This is the third year of our quiz and our questions from the past quizzes have been well received by the quizzing world. The Karnataka Quiz Association will host its next series of quizzes on Sunday, 24 Nov 2013 at the usual venue: Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Queen’s Road, Bangalore. The details of the quizzes are:

Lone Kid Solo Quiz for Middle School Students
Prelims: 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM

There will be a $100 prize for the top quizzer overall. Last year, it was held in 14 cities all over the world, and this year the organizers hope to increase the number of venues.

Quizzes on Saturday 9 November 2013

The KQA is planning two quizzes on Saturday, Nov 9 – the day preceding the Bengaluru edition of the Landmark Quiz. The quizzes are:

10:30 AM – 1:30 PM – Solus Rex, the KQA’s annual solo quiz in a new format, by Thejaswi Udupa

2:30 PM – 6:00 PM – The Ganesh Nayak Memorial Open Quiz for teams of 4 or less by Hari Parameswaran

The quizzes will happen at our usual location – IAT on Queen’s Road.

 

Quizzes on Sunday 20 October 2013

The KQA will hold its next series of quizzes on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the Institution of Agricultural Technologists, Queen’s Road. The details are:

9 AM – 10:30 AM: The annual Oasis Quiz Lone Wolf Edition 2013 organized by The English Language Activities Society, the official quiz club of BITS, Pilani. This is a 90 minute, 120 question written solo quiz held simultaneously in various venues across the country as well as abroad. The quiz is open to all. However, there are two categories – College and Open, with prizes for both categories provided by the organisers.

10:30 AM – 2:00 PM: The October Open Quiz by Kaustuba Venugopal for teams of 4 or less; Prelims, followed by finals for the top 8 teams; Entry Fee – Rs 100/team

2:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Pilferages – a quiz on popular and pulp fiction by Vivek Karthikeyan and Venkatesh Srinivasan for teams of 2 – this is a 40-questions written quiz. Entry Fee – Rs 100/team

4:15 PM to 8:00 PM: Persiflage – the annual KQA Books Quiz for teams of 4 or less by Sumant Srivathsan and Thejaswi Udupa; Prelims, followed by finals for the top 8 teams; Entry Fee – Rs 100/team

 

Canara Union Lone Wolf – Results

The Canara Union Lonewolf Quiz was conducted on Sunday 25th August and had 43 solo contestants taking the prelims, which had 35 questions. The cutoff score was 12.75 and the top 13 were selected for the finals.

After a 50-questions finals, the standings were:
