Mega-Whats 2010 Rankings
202 teams wrote Mega-Whats this year, a small increase over last year.
QED (Chennai) win, with 76 points. A list of the top 100 teams is also provided. Adjudication has resulted in many small changes to scores–the two-pointer section seems to have posed some numerical challenge to people correcting.
If there are errors with names, or if you have questions, please email Mahaquizzer@gmail.com.
The Mega-Whats Face-off will take place as announced in June 2011, with a small modification: we will have two semis featuring the ten city-winners and the six teams that placed in the top ten without actually winning in their city followed by a final in which the top four teams from each semi will slug it out.
A special word of thanks to the Bangalore teams for putting up with cramped conditions without complaint. Seven teams wrote the quiz seated on the floor. Similar stories came in from Chennai and New Delhi.
We thank all the teams that participated, as also the the city-coords for this year’s quiz(Ashwan Lewis, Anurakshat Gupta, Dr. Vijaynath, Anuradha Yogesh, Rudradeep Bhattacharjee, Vivek ND, Vishwajeeth Narvekar, and Siby Kuriakose).
Thanks are also due to the quizzing communities that help make Mega-Whats possible: QFI-Chennai, K-Circle and HQC Hyderabad, SEQC Goa, Kutub Quizzers ( New Delhi), BCQC Pune, BQC-Mumbai, Coimbatore Quizzing Circle, and the quizzing communities in Kerala and Kolkata.
We also thank the individuals who helped swing prizes and venues in various cities: Gopal Kidao (Chennai), Nitish Khadiya ( Hyderabad), Hrishi Varma (Thrissur), Ramanand J (Pune), Dr. Bhattacharya ( New Delhi), Rajiv and Tallulah D’Silva ( Panaji), Senthil Kumar (Coimbatore), Rajiv Rai and Vibhendu Tewari ( Mumbai) and Gautam Ghosh ( Kolkata). None of this would have been possible if not for their efforts.
