The KQA is happy to announce the return of its 3-day quizzing extravaganza in Bangalore, Askqance 2025! With 8 quizzes over 3 days, there’s really something for everyone!
The schedule:
Friday (27th June)
10 AM to 1 PM: Mahamahaquizzer
The national final for the top 16 qualifiers from KQA’s inter-city written quiz, Mahaquizzer. Come watch the best minds duke it out etc etc.
2 PM onwards: MegaWhats National Final
The 16 qualifiers from cities across India converge for the national final of MegaWhats, the KQA’s inter-city team written quiz (duke, best minds etc.).
2 PM to 330 PM: Semifinal 1
345 PM to 515 PM: Semifinal 2
530 PM to 730 PM: Final
8 PM: 4 Edge Pub Quiz
A pub quiz in association with Bangalore pub quizzing royalty 4 Edge Quizzing! A fun pub quiz that’s open to all.
Saturday (28th June)
930 AM to 1 PM: the KQA Science and Technology Quiz
SciTech quizzes are a mainstay of festivals, and this one won’t be any different.
A prelims/finals open quiz for teams of up to four.
2 PM to 330 PM: Turned Pages, a quiz on adaptations
If you ever thought literature quizzes these days were movie quizzes in disguise, this is for you. A quiz on stories that have been adapted for stage/TV/movies from books/plays, all from the “lit” angle.
A written open quiz for teams of up to two.
345 PM to 845 PM: Son of Lumiere – the Movie Quiz
After a brief pause, the venerable movie quiz rides again at Askqance! Hollywood, not-just-Bollywood Indian movies, world cinema, independent productions… it’s all here.

930 AM to 1 PM: The G.S. Hiranyappa Memorial quiz
A quiz on topics near and dear to his quizzing heart: history, geography and the social sciences.

Our flagship general quiz is back in a new avatar… that’s the same well-received avatar as last year.
Sesame will have a tiered format with a prelim, a play-in semi final, and a nine-team final incorporating the top 6 from the prelim and top 3 from the semi-final.

The KQA will conduct two open quizzes on March 16 (Sunday) at the Ujjivan head office in Koramangala.
1030 AM: 20/20 Vision — a quiz on the 2020s by Kunal and Shreyas
How well do you know the decade we’re living through? A quiz that’s all about the 2020s – no history books required.
It is a written quiz for teams of up to two. Open to all. On the spot registration, ₹200/team. Registration waived for school and college teams.
2 PM: Pink Poui Club — the Fashion Quiz
Much like the pink poui in the city, it is time for you to dust off your finest and blossom at the KQA Fashion Quiz.
Join QMs Hetvi, Rabin and Siddharth as we span everything under this March sun from corduroy to Kendall Roy, this is a quiz in which fit check isn’t Emil Zatopek.
It is a prelims/finals quiz for teams of up to 4. Open to all. On the spot registration, ₹300/team. Registration waived for school and college teams.

Happy 2025 to all, we’re diving right back into the calendar with two great quizzes to ring in the new year!
The KQA will conduct two open quizzes on January 5 (Sunday) at the Ujjivan head office in Koramangala.
1030 AM: The Artifacts Quiz by Vivek Karthikeyan and Mahendra Balu. From the QM: An investigative procedure (he means ‘quiz’) into objects of all sorts, from hairclips to Holbeins to hakka noodle makers.
It is a written quiz for teams of up to two. Open to all. On the spot registration, ₹200/team. Registration waived for school and college teams.
2 PM: The January Open Quiz— the first general quiz of 2025 set by Peter Panchali, a veteran quiz team known for their great questions!
It is a prelims/finals quiz for teams of up to 4. Open to all. On-the-spot registration, ₹300/team. Registration is waived for school and college teams.

RESULTS – AsiaSweep 2024
A total of 78 teams wrote AsiaSweep 2024. We have a new winner this year: Calvin Christ and Preetham Upadhya scored an outstanding 76 points out of a possible 108 in Bengaluru.
Ten points behind were the second-placed team of Prithwish Dutta and Sourjo Sengupta, who also took the quiz from Bengaluru. Behind these doughty veterans, the young and upcoming duo of Vibhendu Tewari and Abhinav Dasgupta from Mumbai, placed third overall with 63 points.

KQA Sports Day on 9th February 2025
The KQA is happy to announce Sports Day 2024 a full 48 days before the event (take that, CWC 2023)!
Come to the IAT on Queen’s Road on February 9 (Sunday) for a day of sports quizzing on shores made of jerseys, where you’re allowed concussion substitutes, the quizzers say it’s team of up to Fore! and the furniture is made of cardboard.
930AM to 1 PM: Well Off Course, KQA’s cricket quiz, by returning champions Carthic Crishna, Keshav Athreya and Venky! Please note that qs about Pakistan cricket will be asked at the UAE Embassy Attestation Centre in Shivajinagar.
It’s a prelims/finals quiz for teams of up to four.
Report at 915 AM for registration as the quiz will start at 930 AM sharp.
2PM to 345PM: The Cigar Quiz (written) is a written quiz by Hrishi Varma and Major Chandrakant Nair, about second-place finishers and other near misses who finally get their flowers.

4 PM to 730PM: Sport to Tarboard – The KQA Sports Quiz by Preetham Upadhya, Prithwish Datta and Sanat Pai Raikar. Will contain sports. May contain cricket or Olympics. May even contain WWE.

1030 AM: The Scene and the Unseen — an Indian indie music quiz Allow local scenester Berty (is there a musician he hasn’t met?) and international scenester Sohan (recipient of a takedown notice from Raghu Dixit) take you on a journey through the Indian indie scene: the people behind it, the stories, the venues and of course the history.

230 PM: Sesame Mucho — The KQA Music Quiz is back with returning QMs Anuradha, Santosh and Thejaswi Udupa.

Quiz Night at the Courtyard — March 11th, 2020
Join us for edition 15 of Quiz Night at The Courtyard on Wednesday, 11th of March at 8:00 pm.
The KQA will celebrate Women’s Day with a quiz featuring startling and fun facts & trivia about women around the world. The quiz is set and conducted by Anuradha and Sreyashi.
It is a general quiz for teams of two. The quiz is open to all.
When: 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 11th.
Where: The Courtyard, K H Road. [map]
Registration: ₹100/person. Prizes for top three finishers.
A prior reservation is not mandatory, but it would be helpful for the folks at the Courtyard to know that you’re coming – reserve your table by calling them at 73386 77996. Limited parking at the venue.
Note on parking: Very limited parking at the venue, so ideal to park either near St. Joseph’s College or the Shantinagar Bus Stand parking lot and walk up.

The Karnataka Quiz Association will be conducting two quizzes on 8th March (Sunday) at the Ujjivan head office in Koramangala.
11:00 am — Ads Astra – The Advertising Quiz, by Sai and Urmila. A quiz on ads, advertising industry and people from the advertising world. Special focus on women as the quiz is on March 8. It is a written quiz for teams of up to two. Open to all.
2:30pm — The Nexus Open Quiz This will be the 3rd edition of the general quiz conducted by Nexus Consulting. Cash prizes of Rs. 16,000 generously sponsored by Nexus Consulting. There are prizes for best school and college teams as well (mixed teams allowed – no requirement of all team members to be from same school/college). Come by for some #funwithfundas
